GEAR UP ALUMNI COMMUNITY (GUAC) INITIATIVE

SUPPORT, ONGOING LEARNING AND RESOURCES FOR GEAR UP GRADS

Introducing an exciting new way to support your recent GEAR UP grads.

Give your alumni skills and tools they will use for a lifetime.

The NEW GUAC ( GEAR UP Alumni Community) Initiative is designed to extend the value of the GEAR UP program by providing powerful resources and opportunities to our year 6 and 7 students.

Alumni consistently report that they face challenges that they did not anticipate. These challenges can ding their confidence and cause them to revert to some less productive habits.

The GEAR UP Alumni Association and Seeds Training are partnering to surround students with an eco-system of online and in-person resources engineered to make their transition to post-secondary education or the world of work more seamless.

We built this program with three primary objectives:

1. Accessibility - It's affordable and resources are available 24/7/365.
2. Valuable and Efficient Learning - There is no time wasted. Our virtual meetings and online resources are designed for immediate application.
3. Frequency of Interaction - Monthly touchpoints in a group setting paired with an "always on" community means that they can access GUAA support any time they need it. The goal is an active and robust community that provides networking value to our students.
