Red Light, Green Light
Support = Feedback

The Red Light, Green Light activity challenges us to give sincere feedback to our teammates. Giving feedback isn't always easy, especially if it isn't positively received. As a good friend, and leader it's important to be truthful...even if it hurts a bit. As long as your intention is to help the other person, the feedback will usually improve your relationship and you will become a deeply trusted friend.

Here are some tips for giving great feedback:

Check your intention first.
Make sure that you are not emotional, jealous, angry or spiteful. Be sure that your intent in giving the feedback is to help that person to get better results.

Be very specific.
Be exact about what is working and what is not. If a person is aware of the specific behavior that needs to be changed they have a much better chance of making a shift.

Offer support.
After giving the feedback, ask the other person what you can do to support them in making a change.
